Description

Thie specification for this short course aims to develop the students' ability to design and code user-friendly animations, games and apps. By doing so they learn how to solve problems strategically and utilise a structured project development process while being creative and using their imagination. The short course has been developed for Irish secondary schools and complements the NCCA "Coding" short course to offer a well-rounded computer science program in Junior Cycle. It has been developed in accordance with the NCCA template and guidelines and is aligned with the indicators for Level 3 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). The short course is designed for approximately 100 hours of student engagement and emphasises active learning.
