Counting Mats
Apples Math Centers, Apple Activities - Apple Numbers and Counting
Counting Apples Worksheets and Centers
This resource practices counting and number sense. It is a great math center with apples theme.
There are:
21 pages in color with apple trees and numbers 0-21
11 pages with apple crowns with corresponding numbers of apples on them for the 21 trees.
1 page with smaller apples for counting
The same in black and white.
It may be used in a number of ways.
•Print and Laminate the mats, print, laminate and cut the apples and use for counting. Instead of the apples you can use some other manipulatives, pompoms, small rubber shapes, big beads, etc.
•Or print, laminate and cut the tree heads and kids match them to the trees.
•Perfect for a treasure hunt. Hide the tree heads around the room. Kids go search for them and then place them on the correct tree.
•Or use in a game in which kids win apples to complete their trees.
•Or you can print the back and white pages and leave it to the kids to cut the tree crowns. This way the children practice their fine motor skills as well. Then they can color the picture.
•You can print this 4 pages per sheet and have small task cards. If you are not sure how to, see this post. -> Printing Tips and Ideas.
•Use as playdough mats. Numbers are big enough and kids can make apples out of playdough.
