Description
Looking for math content that high school students can actually use?
Want to see students get excited about math class again?
Ready to hear students tell you they think everyone should take this class and that their parents say they wish they had a class like this in high school?
You've come to the right place!
All 10 Applied Math Unit Bundles, 4 Projects, Semester Exams, and Teaching Tips ... NOW IN ONE MEGA BUNDLE!
This comprehensive package includes everything needed to implement the Applied Math curriculum for the entire year. Within each unit bundle, you'll find resources that come in pdf and PowerPoint formats. The PowerPoints are the original versions of the worksheets that can be edited; they are not meant to be used for presentation purposes. Each unit bundle also contains Teaching Tips for that unit, worksheets/activities, assessments, and detailed answer keys.
I created this curriculum to provide non-college bound seniors or those pursuing non-STEM careers with meaningful content for their fourth year of math. The math itself is essentially basic adding, subtracting, and multiplication, but it's presented in practical, relevant contexts. Consequently, assessments are comprised mostly of word problems, not just cookie cutter number problems. (But no worries! Study guides and accommodated versions are also included for any students on an IEP!) Along the way students learn SO many valuable life skills, ranging from topics to help them to paint their bedroom, to buy or lease a car, or to use credit cards responsibly.

WHAT COMES WITHIN EACH UNIT
- Daily worksheets, activities, or guided notes. All of the first-semester material is self-directed. Your primary role each day is to simply monitor, assist, and answer questions as needed. Everything is hands-on, where students research or complete activities independently of the teacher.
There are several days within the second semester materials where you will
provide information in a guided notes format.
- Assessments. Each unit has at least one assessment piece, which includes an exact replica study guide and accommodated versions for students on IEPs.
- Answer Keys. All worksheets, activities, study guides, and assessments come with detailed answer keys that show all the work, not just the answers. NOTE: You will need to construct some answer keys for current & local information. For example, interest rates are constantly changing, so you would need to reference current data for some of the real estate unit materials. Another example can be found in the car units. Each state sets its own doc fees, and sales tax varies by location, so you would need to have current data as well. I've included answer keys specific to my area and timeframe that can be referenced for further guidance.
- Teaching Tips. I've detailed day-by-day instructions on how I implement each lesson, things to caution students about, or additional resources to aid in instruction or your own understanding of the topic.
