- 2.MD.C.8: Solve word problems involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, using $ and ¢ symbols appropriately.
- 3.OA.D.8: Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity.
- 3.NBT.A.2: Fluently add and subtract within 1,000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
Missouri Learning Standards (MLS) Alignment
- 2.NBT.B.7: Add and/or subtract with numbers and results within 1,000, and justify answers using concrete models or symbols.
- 2.NBT.C.11: Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems. (Note: While the standard specifies 100, these problems scaffold students toward the 3rd-grade expectation of 1,000).
- 3.NBT.A.3: Demonstrate fluency with addition and subtraction within 1,000.
- 3.RA.A.4: Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve problems in situations involving equal groups and arrays.
