Description
Designed to be played whole group using the color coded blocks of a Jenga Game! Students solve AREA word problem according to which color block they pull.
This can also be used as a team game for points in case there is no Jenga game available.
Teacher prep:
-Use color sticker dots, markers, or washi tape on Jenga blocks (Blue, Green, Red, Black)
-Have popsicle sticks or random name generator to keep students actively participating through all word problems!
4th grade TEKS addressed:
4.5(C) use models to determine the formulas for the perimeter of a rectangle (l + w + l + w or 2l + 2w), including the special form for perimeter of a square (4s) and the area of a rectangle (l x w) and
(D) solve problems related to perimeter and area of rectangles where dimensions are whole numbers
