Description

In this math project based learning activity, students use area and perimeter to design their own farm. They must adhere to the minimum size for vegetable patches and animal pens as well as other project guidelines as they construct the farm. After designing their farms, students must list the area and perimeter of each vegetable patch and animal pen to ensure that they are large enough.

This resource includes:

  • teacher directions
  • a force copy link to a Google Slides DIGITAL version of the activity (with rubric)
  • student directions and project guidelines
  • all printable materials needed to construct the farms
  • a scoring rubric
  • a finished example

This project is a great follow up to unit on finding area and perimeter and is perfect for 3rd or 4th grade. Check out the preview file for a full look at this great resource.
