In this lesson, students will move from station to station to practice different skills related to writing an argumentative essay. This serves best as a review or reinforcement. The individual activities cold also be used separately, interspersed within an argument writing unit.

At the different stations, students will play matching games, write their own sentences and paragraphs, read interesting articles, and collaborate with a small group. They will practice:

--Identifying powerful thesis statements/claims

--Writing clear topic sentences

--Piecing together and addressing counterclaims

--Writing conclusions
