This is a free download tool for Smart Board devices that will allow students to practice modeling multiplication problems and the properties of multiplication interactively consistent with the Common Core math standards. The tool gives the students the opportunity to build arrays with various interesting objects (e.g., race cars) and to show what multiplication problems or properties are represented by their array(s). Students can also model rectangular arrays of squares to study and compare the area of rectangles.
The use of arrays can help students understand the concept of multiplication, the properties of multiplication and the vocabulary of multiplication (such as factors, products).
