Help your third grader understand their multiplication facts with these color-coded array flashcards! These flashcards help students gain a solid foundation for understanding their multiplication facts even as they work on memorizing them. Each card features two facts with the commutative property of multiplication, allowing students to see that the answer to these facts are the same because they refer to the same array.

Each color corresponds with a level that contains one set of facts (x1, x2, x3, etc.), only incorporating unique facts to learn. Each level also turns the facts around, utilizing the commutative property of multiplication to learn facts.

Tips and Tricks

• Teach on color at a time, allowing students to write the answer on the back of each card and explaining the commutative property of multiplication.
• Practice each level until mastered (the student should be able to say each fact within 2 seconds)
• Review previous levels often
• Printing: Print single-sided and "actual size" to ensure correct proportions.

• 1 x 2 through 1 x 9

Orange Level

• 2 x 2 through 9 x 2
• 2 x 3 through 2 x 9

Yellow Level

• 3 x 3 through 9 x 3
• 3 x 4 through 3 x 9

Pink Level

• 4 x 4 through 9 x 4
• 4 x 5 through 4 x 9

Blue Level

• 5 x 5 through 9 x 5
• 5 x 6 through 5 x 9

Green Level

• 6 x 6 through 9 x 6
• 6 x 7 through 6 x 9

Purple Level

• 7 x 7, 8 x 7, 9 x 7
• 7 x 8, 7 x 9

Light Blue Level
