Description

ANIMATED: Students practice sounding out words with the /j/ sound (as in Jaguar) to increase engagement and encourage focus during DISTANCE LEARNING. This activity is also good phonics and segmentation practice for the /j/ sound.

Practice /j/ word production in initial, medial or final position. Each of the 3 slides (initial, medial or final /j/ sound is an INTERACTIVE activity with 10 words to sound out. Students click on any set of letters, and the letters will move into the jaguar's mouth, connecting with /j/ pr /g/ and forming a word for students to produce. Initial and final words have a 3 second delay before the word disappears so students have time to process the letters to make a word. Medial words have a 5 second delay before the word disappears to give students a little more time to process the sounds.

Great fun for students!
