This asking and answering questions unit on Google Slides includes digital mini-lessons and activities that teach students how to read and write questions and answers about key details in a text. Text topics include literature and informational. Conventions for writing questions and answers are also covered.
This resource was created for distance learning and interactive lessons on Google Slides for use in Google Classroom, but can be easily downloaded from your Google Drive as a PowerPoint file.

Digital Lessons
This unit includes the following interactive lessons on Google Slides:
- Ask and Answer Questions About Books: Understand why asking and answering questions about books is important.
- What Are Questions?: Explain that a question is an asking sentence.
- How Do I Ask Questions: Use question words, such as who, what, where, when, why, and how.
- Writing Questions: Write questions with an uppercase letter at the beginning and a question mark at the end.
- Questions About Books: Ask questions before, during, and after reading.
- What Are Answers?: Explain that an answer is the information the question asked for.
- Writing Answers: Write answers with an uppercase letter at the beginning and a period at the end.
- Answers About Books: Answer questions about books.
Mini-Lessons are for supplemental use during instruction.
NOTE: You can add elements to the existing slides (voice-over, text boxes, videos, etc.), but please do NOT add slides to or delete slides from the lesson deck. Doing so will "break" the interactive components.
