Description

I made these mini lessons to introduce new reading standards in my 3rd grade classroom! This lesson in particular can be used for RL.1.1 in both 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms!

This mini lesson can be used as a whole group lesson, a small group lesson, or even an intervention lesson for kiddos who are below level in 4th or 5th grade. Students will work to understand the literature standard "asking and answering questions" starting with a video challenge "show what you know edition," followed by a mini lesson, reading tips, a review, and finally a quick test and writing prompt. By the end, students should have a firm understanding of the standard itself.

This lesson is perfect to introduce the RL.1.1 standard at various grade levels (primarily 2nd and 3rd grade). It can be used as an intervention tool for our older kiddos who are below grade level as well.

This product includes an interactive worksheet that mirrors the PowerPoint so that students are engaged and following along throughout the lesson. You could use this as a classwork grade if you wanted!

Includes:

  • 12 PowerPoint slides
  • 2 page interactive worksheet that correlates with the PowerPoint
