"I wanted to ask a self-assessment question - by hand signals, but pointing to the mini posters worked better. Thank you. "

Description

Assessing Understanding Posters to hang in your classroom to help students understand how to self-assess if work is too hard for them.

3 cute full page posters are included - too hard, too easy, and just right

These go along with the self-assessment found at the bottom of all of the worksheets in my First Grade Math Units 1-9 Bundle and First Grade Math Units 10-18 Bundle where students circle whether the worksheet was easy, just right, or hard for them.

In addition to the full page posters, I included poster strips so students can have their own little copy for their desk for reference OR use it to clip (clothespin) the way they feel about the assignment while they work so you can easily see as you walk around and help those who select "Too Hard."

If you download the preview, you can see a picture of how you can also put the small versions on a ring for students to keep on their desk and flip to how they're feeling. You can also see how they correspond to the math worksheet from one of my units right above it.

If you own those math unit bundles, these are already included :)

I used this as a tool to help my virtual first grade students let me know how they were doing with math class. I could then use the information I got to help me plan for how i would move forward with math instruction.
