Description

This reflection form provides a template for educators to break-down specific standards or skills that were assessed. This allows students to identify their strengths and weaknesses.

I do not use this form of reflection with every assessment. I usually start the school year using this form so that the students understand the true meaning of a reflection. I emphasize the importance of learning from our mistakes. I encourage them to use the reflection to ask for specific help. I give my students opportunities to advocate for themselves.

As the year progresses if there is an assessment that the class generally did poor on, then I will use this. Additionally, if there is an assessment coming up that I know will be challenging for my students, then I assign a practice assessment. My students complete this assessment reflection form using the graded practice test so that they know what they need to study or practice more before taking the actual test.

This could be used as an intervention for select students that need to improve their study skills.
