Description

Establishing a homework routine -- or completing asynchronous remote-learning tasks -- is a behavior and habit change for many adult basic education (ABE/GED/HiSET/ESOL students) And, habit change is hard.

As we think about helping our students adopt a new behavior, it helps to build in structured support, scaffold their success, and provide gentle accountability.

This pack contains a series of planning guides to help students prepare for and practice the homework/asynchronous learning habit, in the context of their real (busy, stressful, adult) lives, and a three-day classroom/synchronous/video sessions mini lesson sequence to use these guides.

Contains:

  • Procedures for 3 Day Mini-Lesson Sequence (10- 20 min each)
  • Key Ideas and Teaching Suggestions
  • Homework Planner + Check In (2 Page Student Handout)
  • Vacation Homework Planner (Student Handout)
  • Pre-Exam Planner (2 Page Student Handout; Two Variations)

Materials designed specifically to meet the needs of adult learners (ABE/HiSET/GED/TASC/ESOL)
