Atomic Model Activity
Share

Description

Start your class with reading and discussion of the most important atoms in living things. Progress to the mass, location and charge of the subatomic particles in an atom. Connect the periodic table to the activity and then transition to ions and isotopes in a seamless fashion. Finally, students can apply the newly acquired knowledge as they practice calculating the subatomic particles present in several atoms, ions and isotopes. Finally, mathematics is presented to differentiate between the mass of a single specific atom and the mass number on the periodic table. Presented by Dr. Vonnahme of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
