Description

Help early learners develop sustained attention and book engagement skills with this ABA-based Attend to Book Program. This structured teaching plan supports students in learning how to sit, attend, and visually engage with books for gradually increasing durations — a key foundational skill for group instruction, language development, and classroom readiness.

This program is ideal for learners with autism, ADHD, or early attending challenges. It uses least-to-most prompting, natural reinforcement, and learner-preferred books to create meaningful, positive reading routines across varied settings (couch, floor, reading corner, etc.).

What’s Included:

  • Step-by-step instructional procedure with SDs, prompting, and reinforcement
  • Mastery criteria and trial minimums
  • Tips for generalization, book selection, and reinforcement pairing
  • Target tracking sheet with tiered goals (from 1 page to 20 pages/10 minutes)
  • Notes for maintenance checks and transition to independent reading
