Description

It is very important for students to be able to distinguish an author's purpose when working with a passage. It helps increase reading fluency, allows for better text decoding, and also aids in development of student writing skills.

These fun task cards allow students to read short passages and then decide what the purpose is - Persuade, Inform, or Entertain (PIE).

You can cut cards out and use for whole group lesson, reading centers, or individual instruction. They are easily laminated to be used over and over again with dry erase markers.
