Description
This anchor chart can be kept in your students' author folders/writing workshop notebooks as a resource you'll add to all year long. Each time you encounter a new genre/type of text in your read-alouds, have students add it to the list. You can also print a poster size to model or display digitally. Be sure to include environmental print types of text that aren't usual genres: recipes, shopping lists, billboards...When students encounter texts outside of school and come tell you a new one for the list, then you know they are developing their self-concept as authors!
