Integrate STEM in your classroom this Autumn!
In this STEM project, students complete a leaf chromatography lab in order to find out why leaves change colors. Aligns with Life Science NGSS (K-LS1-1, 3-LS1-1, and 4-LS1-1).
Students read about chlorophyll and the important part it plays in keeping plants alive as well as how chlorophyll gives leaves their green color.
Students collect green leaves and make predictions about what color their leaves will turn. Students test their prediction, and reflect on their results.
