Description
Fill your fall math centers with 30 easy prep fall games to practice first grade skills! These easy prep autumn games for addition, subtraction, counting to 120, & comparing two-digit numbers are a great way to begin the year... and perfect for quick review at the beginning of 2nd grade, too!
Each single-page game is designed to be played by partners and is easy prep with no cards to print, or to lose! :) Just add dice and a way to mark the board, like mini-erasers and erasable markers.
Because they feature graphics like pumpkins, leaves, apples, fire safety, and scarecrows, these games will fit nicely all through autumn! {No Halloween graphics are included in this set except for pumpkins and candy corn.}
Here are the first grade math skills practiced in this autumn game set.
* Addition through 18 (with games differentiated by skill levels)
* Addition strategies (doubles, sums of ten)
* Using ten frames and the 120 chart as math tools
* Missing addends through sums of 10
* Subtraction
* Mixed addition and subtraction
* Sequence of numbers through 120 (before, after, between)
* Early place value (comparing two-digit numbers).
How will you use these 30 autumn math games ?
☛ Set the expectations for math center behaviors by having your students practice with easier math topics they'll already be familiar with. It's a great time to give reminders about courtesy, taking turns, kind words, and good sportsmanship.
☛ Set up a games rotation with changing partners to give yourself more time for individual pre-assessments.
☛ These easy prep games are great for practice and review in math centers, for back to school and throughout fall.
☛ Print multiple copies and put them in morning tubs.
☛ Math intervention and RtI teachers, add these to your collection for practice after a review lesson!
☛ Send a game home for additional practice - games are a fun alternative to traditional homework! A parent letter explaining how to use the games is included, along with black & white versions of each game.
☛ Keep some games in your Early Finishers box.
☛ Homeschooling families, playing a skills-based game is a great way to practice while keeping learning fun!
☛ These math games are an easy activity for your Sub Folder. Make multiple copies for partners to play, or set up a games rotation for partners to move around the classroom. Bonus: no papers for you to grade when you return to your classroom!
☛ Games are great for tutoring. Not only are they effective practice, but they're easy to keep organized and light to carry when you're on-the-go!
Directions for play are printed on each game board and are in a student-friendly numbered format.
These games are kind to your ink concerns – less than 20% of each page is in color, plus a black and white version of each game is also included. If you choose to use the black and white version, you can have your students color them before using them in your math centers, or simply print them on colorful cardstock.
