Description

Automatically analyze on-task vs. off-task behavior using BOSS-style observations. Visual graphs, setting comparisons, peer reference, and custom off-task coding included.

(This BASIC version uses checkboxes, no smart timers, and is limited to three settings. Use the PRO version for more advanced features.)

Quickly understand classroom engagement with clear visual data.

This Time-on-Task Behavior Tracker uses a BOSS-compatible observation structure to record and analyze on-task and off-task behavior. Data is instantly converted into visuals, summaries, and comparisons to help guide intervention planning and student support decisions.

Designed for teachers, interventionists, school psychologists, and behavior teams who want efficient, objective, and meaningful classroom observation data — without the manual calculation.

On-Task vs. Off-Task Percentages for student and peer comparison
Break Down Off-Task Behaviors into custom-coded categories
Compare Across Settings (e.g., whole group vs. small group vs. independent)
Checkbox-Based Entry – simple, quick, and iPad friendly for live observations
3 Observation Windows Supported – track change over time or across conditions
Clear Graphs for Meetings – IEPs, RTI/MTSS planning, FBA discussions, parent conferences

Why educators use this:
Understanding when and where off-task behavior occurs helps determine whether the student needs:

  • environmental support
  • instructional adjustment
  • behavior plan changes
  • or additional intervention

And clear visuals help teams agree on next steps.

Met expectations
Great value
Hello, I purchased your Basic Time on Task form and it said it was based on the boss form. However, on your graph you have "on task" but for the BOSS form there is 2 types of on task, actively and passively. You have a blue section for Passive - but it is showing up for off task. For the BOSS form they have: 2 on task: Actively and Passively 3 off task: passively off task, verbally off task, and motor off task.  I was wondering if you could edit this file, as it said it would be the BOSS form - it is vital to show the 2 types of on task rather than just grouping them as one.  Update: After letting the seller know- he fixed it THE SAME DAY. WOW! I really reccomend him and will be using him again!!!!!

I cannot thank the creator enough for churning out this amazing way to do time on task analysis without having to do the "plug and chug" work of my own spreadsheet. I love the data analysis options, and it's very user friendly for the parent to see where their child is at in comparison to the others in the classroom. Thank you SO MUCH
