Interactive Financial Literacy Lesson - Google Slide Lesson

My students love this lesson! Weird but true. This lesson usually takes 3, 75-minute periods. There are interactive components built-in throughout the lesson. Topics covered: Factors affecting spending decisions, goal setting, concrete decision-making strategy, interest rates, credit cards, compound interest, credit score, buying a car, student loans, mortgages, deductions, and a reverse budget. INCLUDES: Google Slide Lesson, Student Google Doc Note, Online/Teacher Google Doc Note, 5 Google Form Quizzes (I used them as check-ins online, but they can also be utilized in-person as well) PURCHASING OPTIONS: Resources also available individually. ONTARIO CURRICULUM: Grade 8 Math F1. Money and Finances (Financial Management, Consumer & Civic Awareness Stands), Grade 9 Exploring Family Studies HIF 101 Daily Living C. (Decision Making & Problem Solving, Managing Resources), the lesson could also be used in any grade 7/8/9/10 class that requires a general financial literacy lesson.

I used this for my grade 7 and 8 Student Support Centre classroom, giving me a whole week of material in financial literacy for my math period. I also used portions of the material with my students in grades 5 and 6. Great resource and I will be using it next year too!
