Description

So, you need that writing projects to start off your school year through Distance Learning? Here are six developed writing projects that are aligned to the new Common Core National Standards and can be used for distance learning. They are the writing projects that I’ve developed over the last 18 years of teaching elementary school in California.

***Here is your writing program all set and ready to implement from the beginning of school through the month of September!

I served on a Writing Development committee for my district developing writing units to help meet the Common Core before they were adopted. I've also been tutoring online, and am familiar with the new challenges teachers face with distance learning. Here is a way to start your writing program with simple, writing strategy reviews to get your students back on track for school.

I’ve been trained in several different writing strategies such as 6-Traits and Writer’s Workshop. I’ve taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade over 18 years. I started teaching during Whole Language, watched things transition to Standards teaching, and now I’m watching the pendulum swing back to Common Core.

***All lessons are in the Five Step Lesson format with grading rubrics and needed graphic organizers for each lesson. Lessons include the introductory to writing process, paragraph parts, opinion paragraphs, and a final Book Review 3 paragraph essay. With this PDF book, you'll get all your students on the track for Common Core. It is the first 6 weeks of school to start your own writing program.

***Sentence Frames included in lessons for ELD Support.

***Written to fit a Writing Workshop teaching format to differentiate instruction for Gifted and Talented.

***Easy downloadable worksheets to help students that are distance learning.

So, sit back, relax, and feel confident that you hold in your hand a start to a writing program for your classroom. You’ve got it under control. Breath deep. It will be OK. You got this.

Have a fabulous school year!
