Description

These doodle notes are a great way to help your students record and retain information during your graphing lessons. Concepts are illustrated in simple steps and graphics, that can be colored and completed either while you teach, or as a follow-up to a lesson. Each page has a few blanks for the children to fill in, or terms to color, as they think about what they are learning.

The notes included here are designed for children who have already learned how to read quantities from bar graphs, and are ready to move ahead to concepts such as the range, median, mode, average, and mean.

There are five pages of doodle notes, provided as a pdf file, in four formats:

- Fully colored bar graph doodle notes, with the blanks filled in - suitable for a computerized projector, overheads, or even to use as small classroom posters or anchor charts

- Black and white bar graph doodle notes, with empty blanks for students to complete, and word options in the bottom left corner

- Black and white bar graph doodle notes, with the blanks completed in red - as an ink-saving teacher's reference

- Fully colored bar graph doodle notes, with empty blanks that can be filled on an overhead during your bar graph lessons, or for other purposes.

Concepts included:

- Bar graph terms, presented as a labeled diagram with blocky letters that can be colored

- Range, presented in diagram form, with a description below, a blank to fill, and an equation

- Mode, presented as a diagram of a data table, and a description, showing how to find the most common value, includes one blank to fill

- Median, presented with a diagram, and two pages of simple steps for finding the median if there is an odd number of values, and if there is an even number of values. A few blanks for students to complete

- Average or mean, presented visually as a diagram of a data table, with arrows to show how the data is handled, as well as an equation, and written steps, with blanks to fill

We hope this package ends up being a great addition to your classroom!
