Base Ten Blocks | Cupcake Theme Task Cards
Share

Description

It is important for students to practice counting base ten blocks to further their understanding of place value. This cupcake themed task card activity gives your students that opportunity. Sixteen two-digit and three-digit problems are included in this set, along with a recording sheet, and an answer key for easy grading.

Included in this Product:

  • 16 Cupcake Themed Task Cards
  • Student Center Direction Page
  • Recoding Sheet
  • Answer Key for Easy Grading

Recommended Use:

  • Independent practice - Give each student a set of task cards and a copy of the recording sheet. Students independently work on solving all task cards and recording the answers. You can then go over the correct answers as a class.
  • Partner practice - Give each partner group a set of task cards and a recording sheet. They can race to see who can answer all of them the quickest. Another way is to ask one partner to solve the odd numbers and the other to solve the even numbers. At the end, they can check each other for accuracy using the answer key.
  • Math Centers - Cut out the task cards, place in your math center rotations, and include the recording sheet for students to write their answers on. I typically put mine in a page protector, but you can also print out an individual page for students.
  • Math Warm-Up Activity or Daily Number Talk: Project 1-2 task cards a day and have students count and record their answers on the answer sheet or their whiteboard. Call individual students to come up and model how they found the answer.
