They needed help with the very basic skills of putting sentences together into a paragraph, then putting paragraphs together in a way that made sense and answered the essay prompt. They "hated" writing, and many of them had lost all confidence in their ability to write. They were resistant, had all but given up, or had learning challenges that weren't being addressed.

They needed to gain confidence. They needed help that traditional essay programs glossed over. They didn't need "baby" resources meant for elementary students. They needed help and support that was scaffolded in a way that made sense to them but didn't insult them. I created Essay Apprentice™ for those students.

As Level 1 of my complete Essay Writing Curriculum, this program provides a structured, step-by-step progression that takes students from basic writing skills to independent paragraph writing.
