This basic math assessment resource is a great tool to use at the beginning of the school year for this exact reason. This test assesses adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with whole numbers and decimals. Also, it tests students on their knowledge of order of operations, exponents, fraction operations, and comparing fractions.
