Basketball Errorless Learning Color Matching Activity

Help students develop color recognition, matching skills, visual discrimination, and independent work skills with this fun basketball-themed matching activity! Students match colored basketballs to the basketball hoops with the corresponding color pattern. This errorless learning activity is designed to promote success and confidence while providing multiple opportunities for practice through independent work, centers, small groups, and games.

This resource includes 11 different color matches and can be used in a variety of ways to meet the needs of your students.

Ways to Use This Resource:

🏀 Independent Work
Cut out the basketball hoops and basketballs. Place the hoops in one pile and the basketballs in another pile. Students match each basketball to the hoop with the corresponding color pattern.

🏀 Sensory Bin Activity
Place the basketballs in a sensory bin, bag, or container. Students select a basketball and find the matching hoop.

🏀 Task Box Activity
Store the pieces in a task box or photo case for independent practice and repeated use.

🏀 Small Group Game
Pass out the basketball hoops among students. Place the basketballs face down in a pile or inside a container. Students take turns selecting a basketball. The student with the matching hoop keeps the basketball. The first student to match all of their hoops wins!

🏀 Language Center
Use the activity to practice color identification, requesting, describing, turn-taking, and following directions.
