These March Madness Reading Passages and Comprehension Questions are perfect for March! They will do two things for your students. First, they will engage them, because they are timely and teach about famous basketball players from the NBA! Second, they will give your students a chance to practice text evidence skills. Both lead to growth, which is a teacher's dream come true!
What is included in this download?
Four reading passages are included in this product, at three different levels (12 passages, total). A 2nd grade set is included for the on-level 2nd grade reader. There are 1st grade sets for a below-second-grade reader, and a 3rd grade set for advanced readers.
This low-prep design only requires you to print and start teaching! You can print the passages and question sets front and back to minimize the papers you manage. Or, print graphic organizers and help students practice finding text evidence to support their answers!
The four passages in this product are titled:
- Michael Jordan
- LeBron James
- Steph Curry
- Kobe Bryant
*Each passage comes with 5 short answer comprehension questions. Answer keys are provided. (*1st grade passages come with 3 short answer questions)
Graphic organizers provided are for:
- Cause and Effect
- Main Idea/Key Details
- Compare and Contrast
- Problem + Solution
- Sequence of Events
