Description

*) Students will use various methods and resources to analyze and evaluate different picture books written specifically for children. Students may choose to complete this project individually or in pairs. Once students have made their choice, they will explore various websites to gain further knowledge on how to start the planning process and view several animated storybook examples. Students will choose a topic idea and begin mapping their story. Students may use traditional graphic organizers, or they may choose to use either Smart Ideas or an online Story Mapping program.

*) Using the detailed project sheet and scoring rubric as a guide, they will plan, write, illustrate, and publish their own original work of mathematical fiction. The project sheet includes an initial pacing guide along with various online resources
