Build confidence and understanding of addition number facts.
Materials Required
•Bead String Addition Board
•White board pens (2 colours)
How to Use
•Students read the number sentence and identify the two numbers being added together. Use one colour to shade a ‘bead’ to represent the value of the first number on the Bead String. Start on the left side and fill and colour in the ‘beads’ from the left side. Use a different colour to represent the value of the second number.
Preparation Required
•Print and laminate board
Change It Up
•Use a Bead String (100 beads on a shoe lace, patterned 10 in colour A, 10 colour B and repeated to 100) for students to use before shading the beads and answer on their Bead String Addition Board.
