Beat the Clock is such a fun and different way for students to practice their facts. It is a game that students can play by themselves and try and beat themselves! They practice certain facts in round 1 and then right away again in round 2 to see if they can improve their time! This is a fun and motivating game to get our students closer to mastering their facts! The thinking behind this game is that students will have just practiced their facts and are now familiar with the board, so hopefully during the second round students will be able to “beat themselves” and improve their time! In this case, they have won! They have also proven to themselves that with practicing their math facts they really can improve!
