Description
Looking for an engaging, hands-on way to help students truly understand numbers 1–20? These Representing Numbers Matching Cards give students multiple ways to see, build, and connect number concepts through meaningful math representations.
This set includes matching cards for numbers 1–20 represented in:
- Standard form (numerals)
- Number word form
- Base Ten
- Tens frames
- Number lines
- Number paths
- Dice
Students strengthen number sense by matching different representations of the same number, building deep understanding instead of simple memorization. Perfect for kindergarten through second grade learners, this resource supports counting, subitizing, comparing numbers, and understanding number sense. This resource can also be used with the Representing Numbers - Frayer Model activity from my store.
Want to integrate coding and movement? These cards can also be used with Bee-Bots and Blue-Bots. Place cards on a grid (Check out Bee-Bot Coding Bundle) and have students code their robot to navigate to matching representations and/or solve teacher-created challenges. It’s an easy way to combine math practice with computational thinking.
With this Representing Numbers set, you can:
✅ Reinforce number sense using multiple visual models
✅ Support subitizing and counting strategies
✅ Strengthen understanding of number magnitude and sequence
✅ Use as a math center, small group activity, or intervention tool
✅ Differentiate by limiting the number range or representation types
✅ Integrate with Bee-Bots and Blue-Bots for hands-on coding challenges
✅ Create independent, partner, or whole-group games with minimal prep
Perfect for:
- Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classrooms
- Math centers and rotations
- Small group intervention
- Early finishers
- STEM integration with Bee-Bots and Blue-Bots
- Sub plans with simple setup
This resource makes number sense practice interactive, purposeful, and easy to implement in any elementary classroom.
Clear. Purposeful. Impactful. Just like every resource should be.
⚡️Do you want TPT credits?⚡️
The primary way to earn TPT credits is by leaving ratings and reviews on your purchased resources. You may also receive TPT credits on your account because they're added by Team TPT, for example as reimbursement — those will be listed as "Credits added to your account by TPT Staff."
When you leave a review, you'll earn 1 credit for every $1 you spent on TPT for that resource. Each credit has a value of 5 cents, so every 20 credits earned equals $1 that you can apply to future TPT purchases. We'll round up from 50¢ for you! If you provide a review on a resource priced at $4.75, you'll earn 5 credits.
TPT credits are only earned for reviews left on active, paid resources. Credits are not earned on gift card purchases, inactive resources, or free downloads.
After using a resource, you can leave a rating and review by following these steps:
- Go to your "My Purchases" page.
- Locate the resource you’d like to review and click the "Leave a Review" button.
- Answer each question and leave a review sharing more about your experience with the resource. Then, click "Submit."
To redeem your credits, look for the "Use account balance" option located under the "Checkout" button on the “My Cart” page. Enter the amount you'd like to apply toward your order and click "Apply."
