Description
This a companion to Beginning Reader #1A: I See the
This resource can be read on computer, tablet, phone. You are encouraged to send one copy to each student in your classroom. Entice students to keep reading at home. Give kids the boost of confidence with reading material at their level. In the classroom, teach the repeating sentence pattern "I see the...." Point out that the word 'the' must be memorized because it cannot be written down phonetically. Use with prekindergarten and Kindergarten students and as an intervention tool for older kids. Repetition works well with beginning readers/learners. As a result, this book repeats the sentence pattern: I see the.... on every page. There are many labels to help kids with new vocabulary. This helps nonnative English Language Learners too.

Drawings above some words help students 'read' the sentences. For example, a pair of eyes is above the word 'see'. A little boy is above the word 'I'. For each noun there is a drawing of that noun. To introduce the article 'the' each 'the' word is in red. Please tell kids that the word 'the' must be memorized because the letters do not say the sounds found in the word /the/.
