-Designed for Teacher Table Time. Once students know how to play game, it can be used for small group independent practice.

-Easy: copy, cut, laminate

-antidotal notes pages

-Objective: Initial Phoneme: match, isolate, conclude

Objective: students will match initial phonemes in words while playing Go Fish

1.Each student gets 4 cards.

2.The youngest student goes first.

3.Student one will say, “Does someone have a card that has the ______ sound?”

4.If the answer is yes – the student will make a match and lay the cards down. If the answer is a no – the student will ‘Go Fish’.

5.Then it goes to the next person.

6.This will continue until all the cards have been played.

7.Student s will then count and see how many matches that they received.
