Description

The Beginning Sound Picture Sort cut-and-paste activity is the perfect way to get your students excited about listening to those initial letter sounds. Students are using their fine motor skills in addition to practicing sound recognition. Ideal for pre-k kiddos, kinders, or 1st graders!

Letter order corresponds to the introduction order from the Journeys kindergarten curriculum.

*** All pictures say the true letter sound. th, ch, sh, etc. sounds are purposefully not included to avoid confusion. ***

✏️ How to use:

* Students cut the pictures on the dotted lines. Then, sort each picture by beginning letter sound. When correctly sorted, students glue pictures into the corresponding box.

* Print for morning work, centers, or teacher table/reading groups

✏️ What is included?

* 7 pages of letter sorting

* 4 letters on each sorting page

* Letter order corresponds to Journeys kindergarten curriculum
