Description

Do you have students who struggle to understand the effect their actions have? Do you have students who have difficulty thinking of positive replacements for their behavior? This behavior processing sheet is perfect for helping students with these skills!

My school utilizes a think time system and sheet. I had a student one year whose negative behavior would escalate when he was asked to fill out the think time sheet, because he associated it with negative memories. I created this behavior processing sheet for him. They covered the same things, but this looked different and had a different name. Going through this processing sheet with him provided us the chance to talk through what happened and what might be a better option(s) for next time.

Traditional think time sheets require students to write out what happened. For some students, writing is difficult and can be a trigger. My goal with this sheet is to help students deescalate. The simple boxes to check makes it quick and easy for students to fill out. Notes can be written on the back with more details to help you as a teacher remember what happened.

This processing sheet focuses on helping students be safe, kind, and respectful.
