Description

I am a strong supporter of kindness within the classroom when it comes to consequences and behavior management. I believe all that the students need is a little nudge, a little self awareness, in the right direction.

From an islamic point of view, it is very important for us to connect their behavior with Allah. Enhancing their taqwa at such a sensitive time is a win win situation.

Therefore, the following product is a reflection sheet that includes few self exploratory questions about a bad behavior the student might just have demonstrated. At the end of the sheet is a paragraph that they have to copy in order to reinforce the concept of two choices that they had - the good behavior and the bad behavior. The paragraph phrases how they make a commitment to always make the good choice as they will be answerable to Allah for it.

I use this reflection sheet as a second tier of consequence when I ask the student to stay back usually after class or in break time and fill out this reflection sheet. Sometimes the students ask if they can write more. I always allow them to go on and think of their behavior and write down what they feel. It definitely makes them feel better and is often the only consequence needed.

Hope this helps you in your classroom. Don't forget to rate the product and leave feedback at the bottom. You can also read more about my journey as a teacher at my blog which, honestly, needs a little makeover. :)

Happy teaching!
