Works well for group reset, less effective one-on-one

I used these reflection sheets with my middle school students, and they worked really well as a whole-class reset—especially when I left them with a sub. The impact was immediate… they were noticeably quieter and more aware of expectations afterward. When I tried using them with individual students, though, the results were more mixed. Some students didn’t take it seriously and would ignore it, so it seems to work better as a group accountability tool rather than a one-on-one intervention. Overall, a strong resource for reinforcing expectations and resetting behavior, especially with the right context.

My staff and I have been discussing other discipline options for students. I do not like writing consequences, as I want our students to love writing, but I do like the examples and wording of the essays. I will use them to add to some other consequences we already have in use.
