Description
Includes a Mini-Set of 11 Biographies Task Cards! I used these for Fluency practice, but you can use them in a variety of ways. Includes eleven VERY brief biographies of famous historical figures.
The famous figures include:
George Washington
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Rosa Parks
Amelia Earhart
Benjamin Franklin
Sally Ride
Harriet Tubman
Abraham Lincoln
Christopher Columbus
Thomas Jefferson
George Washington Carver
I created these for my students to practice their fluency of phrases and sentences. I found a lot of LONG fluency passages, and I found a lot of short sentences or phrase passages, but I wanted something different, so I created these, with various sentence structures that students commonly find in texts.
In a fluency reading center, I had students read the cards orally with a partner. They use my Free Fluency Rubric to rate themselves. They EACH read each card a total of three times (six times between the three of them). The goal by the last reading is to be completely fluent.
I have MANY full sets of Fluency Task Cards!
