Description

I created this project for my seventh grade ELA class, but it could very easily be adapted for 6th or 8th grade. The project will take about 2-3 weeks depending on the length/difficulty of the biographies your students use. There are several grading opportunities throughout the project, including three rubrics (one for the essay, one for the multimedia slideshow, and one for their actual presentation.) This covers a LOT of goals: reading, writing, speaking/listening, and language. Each line of the rubric includes the specific Common Core standard that it corresponds to. Pages 1-2 are for 6th grade standards, pages 3-4 are for 7th grade standards, and pages 5-6 are for 8th grade standards. The project is laid out in a simple step-by-step format for the students. The rubric is really concisely written so that students can understand it but also so that grading is a breeze for you!
