This was our school's best project of the year!

During my biography unit with my 3rd grade class I had the students choose a subject that they would like to study and become and expert on. This would eventually be the person they turned into for our wax museum.

We spent one month studying our person as part of our daily reading block. As a final project we wrote speeches in first person and put on a living wax museum.

In this packet I have included the following:
1. A handout breaking down the due dates week by week for the project. This allowed the parents to keep track of where the project should be and allowed me to make sure the students were completing their parts on time. - parents had to sign this to so I knew they were in the loop.

2. A handout I gave to each student to collect notes on the subject they chose to study. I told them they might not find every question but the more the better.

3. The invitation I sent to parents to rsvp for The Living Wax Museum.

I also had the students take the planning notes and work on speeches in the first person form that they would read on the museum day. (some kids memorized theirs!)

MY students had a BLAST putting on the wax museum. We had a huge turn out (90 people including 40 parents from the class) to be exact!

This is a project that you can not miss doing with your class. It was my first time organizing, planning, and putting on but definitely the best thing I've done in my teaching career thus far!
