Celebrate your 4th, 5th, or 6th grade students' birthdays (or throw a pretend party) with project based learning, incorporating authentic real world math problems! Students plan their own birthday party using a fun menu, and calculate the cost for the entire class. Once the students have found the total, they are asked to calculate what each person's equal share would be. This comes with three different levels of intensity. Each level of intensity will ask the students to multiply, divide, add, subtract, and estimate. Two of the options includes decimals of various intensity, and one option only includes whole numbers for younger grades.
