Description
Reading at home is one of the most important activities a student can do to improve academic success. This book report form is a great tool for reinforcing at-home reading as well as the important literary and writing concepts that you teach at school.
This book report asks students to identify in writing important literary elements such as main character, setting, problem, solution, and main events. In addition, it also reinforces writing skills by requiring answers to be written in complete sentences and give students the opportunity to write a one-page summary of the book plot. While most ideal for chapter books, this project can also be pared down to use with emerging readers.
This form also includes handy teacher scoring areas that assign point values for each question and a basic writing rubric for the summary.
Downloaded Zip file contains a printable PDF for immediate use as well as a fully-customizable Word document so that you can modify it to meet your specific needs.
