Description
The Bookmark Notes reading and organization strategy is perfect for school, home, and distance learning!
The bookmark is designed to help students organize their thinking and observations while reading fiction. Observations, questions, and details about the book that are recorded on the bookmark can help teachers, parents, and students have in-depth and meaningful reading conferences and discussions.
To use the Bookmark Notes:
- Print the two bookmark slides double-sided on letter-size paper (make sure ‘short-edge binding’ is selected in print settings);
- Fold the bookmark along the solid vertical lines, like you would with a brochure, to create three panels on each side (note: some trimming may be required, depending on your printer);
- As you read, record the main characters, setting, important events, wonderings, and likes and dislikes on the bookmark;
- When you are finished reading, use the Bookmark Notes to mark your page.
No matter where you are reading, your notes are always with you!
