Description
Hello teachers!
This multiplication game is a powerful tool for building conceptual understanding of multiplying large numbers.
Included with this game is a detailed lesson plan, 3rd and 4th grade Common Core standards, learning targets, and discussion questions. There are also game cards and recording sheets for multiplying 1x2, 1x3, and 1x4 digit factors.
Through playing this game...
3rd and 4th graders will learn the place value structure of the box method, strengthen mental math skills, and gain a conceptual foundation for multiplying large numbers. This will serve them when using the box method and any other strategy, like the standard algorithm!
5th graders will benefit from a review of multiplying 1x4 digit numbers, and they'll improve their mental math capabilities.
All students will practice lots of multiplication and build place value understanding as they play this game throughout the school year.
I hope you enjoy this game as much and my students and I do!
Happy Teaching!
