Description
Box Out! is a fun way for students to learn how to identify notes, rests and dynamics in music class. Group students into 2's or 3's, max of 4 per group. Each student gets a different colored pencil or crayon and they take turns rolling a dice and filling in the squares. The student that fills in the most squares wins!!
This activity is great for when you have a substitute, before you introduce all of the notes or could be used as a review.
I enjoy watching my students as they play this game and interact with one another. They are building relationships with their peers and learning at the same time. When they have completed this game they are very familiar and secure in their understanding of what the note names are and what they look like.
Instant download, easy to print and use over and over again!
