Description

Looking for a great box plot activity? Look no further! Also known as box and whisker plots, this set includes 20 task cards focused on box plots. The card scenarios vary in difficulty, allowing for classroom differentiation.

Task cards

1-4: Using box plots to identify extremes, median, and quartiles
5-8: Using extremes, median, and quartiles to create box plots
9-12: Using data to identify extremes, median, and quartiles
13-16: Using data to create box plots
17-20: Analyzing and comparing box plots

An answer sheet (should be copied front and back) and answer key are provided. The blank answer sheet allows for mixing cards. Students can record the card number in the space provided. To prepare the cards, print them, cut along the dotted lines, and laminate if possible. Store in a container or on a ring. Cards can be used multiple times and last for years!
