Description
Practice creating and analyzing box plots with your students using either printable task cards or a Google Slides digital version. The task cards can be used three different activities:
- Creating box plots from a data set
- Analyzing data on a box plot
- Matching a data set to a box plot
Activity 1:
Students use a sets of data to draw a box plot by finding the minimum, maximum, interquartile range (IQR) and the median of the data.
Activity 2:
Students use box plots to analyze the data by determining the shape, range, IQR, and the implications of the graph.
Activity 3:
Students use both the data cards and the box plots cards to match up a data set to a box plot.
Each of the activities is available in both printable and digital format. The digital format is delivered through Google Slides and can be used with Google Classroom.
This activity is aligned to the Texas TEKS 6.12A, 6.12B, 6.12C, 6.12D, and 6.13A!
